Change the location of your personal folders
Suppose, if you frequently format your computer or reinstall your operating system, or if your primary hard drive space is very low and it has not enough space for all your media and documents, you will obviously like to change location of your personal folder to the separate partition. This trick will also help you to ensure that in case of a system crash, you can just pop In the installation disc and install Windows again on your primary partition after formatting it and still not worry about losing your personal folders data.
Here is the process of this trick.
· Navigate your user folder by clicking on start and then your username or you can open windows explorer and navigate to C:\Users\your name or your account name
· Now right click on the personal folder that you want to relocate and then click on properties.
· Now click on location tab.
· Now enter the address to which you want to relocate your personal folder.
· Now click on ok. Windows will ask your permission to create the folder if it does not exist already.
· Here windows will give you an option to move all your files from old location to the new location. I will recommend you click on yes as some programs need to access to them to function properly, like games for instance which store game profile in the Documents folder.
